DortmunderDortmunder is any beer brewed in Dortmund, Germany. The city, however, is especially associated with the Export style. Dortmunder is a golden lager that is more full in body and color than a Pilsner. It also employs less hops for bitterness and aroma. However, Dortmunders are typically drier than German pils and sweeter than Munich Helles. Goes great with chicken, spit roasted meats, salmon, ham, bacon, and stew. Also called Export Lager. |
