Light LagerThe on-going development of golden lager beers has continued apace since the late 1800's. Lighter beers are the leading edge of beer evolution and respond to the mainstream - their mass appeal and wide acceptance cannot be argued. Light golden lagers are well grounded in history, Pilsner style beers were the leading edge of this "fad" and the wedge they've driven has almost excluded all other beers. Today's broad range of pilsner/lager beers are all clear, bright and light; while this most modern "light"lager generally has a mild hop bitterness with a clean hoppy aroma. The new age lagers are focussed on clean, light and fruity flavours with no defects.
